Playmat Printing at MB PRINT – A Versatile Alternative to Cardboard Boards

With our configurator, you can price and order playmats in any size and any quantity. A playmat can be an atmospheric background organizing player boards, cards, and tokens on the table, or a full-fledged, yet cheaper, alternative to foldable cardboard game boards.

1. Material

We produce our playmats using latex technology on a vinyl substrate with a thickness of approx. 0.9 mm. This material has been tested and used by us for many years – on one hand, it provides high durability, and on the other, it allows for photographic print quality, which neoprene mats do not offer.

Playmats have a semi-matte finish, which eliminates harsh light reflections from the surface, making graphics, fields, and text on the mat perfectly visible to every player at the table, regardless of lighting or viewing angle.

Our playmats are moisture-resistant – liquid does not soak into the mat’s structure. The print itself, however, does not react to UV radiation, meaning the playmat won’t fade, retaining deep blacks and color saturation for years.

2. Storing Playmats

The material is flexible, allowing for convenient storage of the mat rolled up (e.g., in a cardboard tube), without fear of permanent deformation. Our mats quickly flatten after being removed from the tube. It’s worth noting that playmats should not be folded into a box.

3. Latex or Neoprene Playmat Printing?

You often ask how our mats differ from neoprene mats (like a ‘mouse pad’). Here are the key differences that make a latex mat a better choice for you:

• Spill Resistance – a latex mat has a completely non-absorbent surface. Liquid can simply be wiped away with a cloth, whereas neoprene mats have a top layer of material that absorbs liquids and is harder to clean.
• Detail Sharpness – printing on smooth vinyl material is significantly sharper than dye-sublimation on textile material (neoprene). If your map has small text, a hex grid, or intricate details – they will be more legible on latex.
• Any Size – latex technology allows us to cut the mat to the millimeter, in any custom format, without the need for expensive dies.
• Thickness and Weight – neoprene is a thicker ‘sponge’ (2-3 mm), soft, but also heavier and takes up more space when rolled. Latex is thinner (0.9 mm) and lighter, taking up less space when rolled.

4. File Verification and Order Fulfillment.

Before ordering a playmat, you must check our file preparation guidelines.

Your submitted file is verified by our team, usually within one to two business days. If the file is correctly prepared, you will receive an email from us with order acceptance and a payment link (Przelewy24). If the file requires corrections, you will receive clear instructions on what needs to be adjusted. After payment, we process playmat printing within 2-12 business days.
